Classic sample application – and still going strong in 2018: Anlumo made this STL for the current Metalab hotplate.

After the very first hype of DIY 3D printing its reasonableness wasn't that evident. But soon models like this were shared and it became evident because apparently everyone was in need of a spare knob for their household appliances.

Naxx donated a frankensteined 3D printer. Thanks to badpractice it is now working and getting an octoprint upgrade.
